A brief history

Cantine Povero is a historic family-run winery established in 1837, located in Cisterna d’Asti, in the heart of Piedmont. With 50 hectares of certified organic vineyards and 50 hectares of forests and meadows, our philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for nature and the winemaking traditions of our land.

Our vineyards are situated in some of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions – Roero, Langhe, and Monferrato – allowing us to produce a wide range of traditional Piedmontese wines, including Barbera, Barolo, Arneis, and Moscato d’Asti. Our commitment to sustainability is embodied in the Equilibrio Natura project, through which we preserve one-third of our estate as woodland, promoting harmony between viticulture and biodiversity.

For nearly two centuries, we have cultivated our land with the same dedication as ever, turning each harvest into a story of passion, terroir, and identity.
