A brief history
Our company, MARIO RIVETTI CASCINA SERRE, is located in the municipality of Alba, in the heart of the Langhe region, at about 350 meters above sea level, on the top of a hill positioned centrally between the Barolo and Barbaresco zones, offering a highly panoramic view.
It was founded by our father in 1968 and has been managed by us, his daughters, since the early 2000s—making it a fully female-led operation.
The family-run nature of the business allows us to personally oversee every stage of our grape production: from cultivation to vinification, from bottling to direct sales of our products.
We own about 12 hectares of land surrounding the winery and produce the typical wines of the region—all from native grape varieties:
MOSCATO D’ASTI DOCG, LANGHE FAVORITA DOC, BARBERA D’ALBA, DOLCETTO D’ALBA, and NEBBIOLO D’ALBA.
The only international variety we grow is Langhe Chardonnay, which we vinify in a unique style using French oak tonneaux.
We work with a passion that has been passed down through generations, using sustainable viticulture practices to produce high-quality wines that fully express the union between the land and the grape variety they come from—all with a distinctly feminine touch.
Our vineyards, located at altitudes ranging from 300 to 350 meters above sea level, are mostly south-facing and set in calcareous clay soils that include the Marl of Sant’Agata—bluish marl layers with little sand, which impart elegance and longevity to the wines.
We follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices and are SQNPI-certified (National Quality System for Integrated Production), committed to social and environmental responsibility.
Our sustainable farming involves rational use of protective treatments, applying phytosanitary products only when strictly necessary, and always choosing those with the lowest environmental impact and least risk to human health.
